Cherryssa LaVonne Cooper

Cherryssa’s Journey... Cherryssa LaVonne Cooper, known as “Vonne” to most people, was born on Tuesday, September 8, 1970 to Susie Cooper and the late Clinton Cooper, Jr. God saw that her road was getting rough and that a cure was not to be, therefore He called her to her heavenly rest on Monday, July 5, 2021. She was a 1988 graduate of Snow Hill High School in Snow Hill, Maryland and she also attended the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland. After a year of college, she joined Job Corps. After graduation from Job Corps, she was employed with the Federal Government. After she returned home, she was employed by Salisbury University and the Pocomoke Walmart. She loved to read, watch Tyler Perry movies and television shows, but she mostly enjoyed spending time with her precious daughters and other family, especially our North Carolina family. She joined Mount Hope Baptist Church as a teenager. Although she did not attend church often due to work or health reasons, she made sure that her girls attended Sunday School and church service. Cherryssa’s beloved memories will be fondly remembered by: her daughters, Jaelyn Kendra and Kenae Peyton Cooper-Holland; her mother, Susie Cooper; her brother, Clinton “Buttons’ Cooper III; grandmother, Margaret Collins of Snow Hill, Maryland, uncles, Thomas (Stephanie) Collins of Salisbury, Maryland, Hilton and Jones Collins, both of Snow Hill, Maryland and Mike (Denise) Cooper of Windsor, North Carolina; aunts, Lucy Cooper and Carolyn Outlaw, both of Greenville, North Carolina, Stella Jefferson of Monroe, North Carolina and Josephine and Daisy Cooper, both of Newport News, Virginia; special cousins, Charlotte (Charles) Gillam and Sharon (Tracy) Cooper-White, all of Greenville, North Carolina and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her father, grandparents, Thomas Collins, Sr. and Lucy and Clinton Cooper.
