Carolyn L. Wilson

Carolyn Louise Wilson was born July 16, 1953 to the late Henrietta (Dodd) Gibbs and Earl Wilson. On March 6, 2014, she departed this life. God could no longer see His beloved angel suffer any longer after a long fight with many illnesses. Carolyn fought a good fight to stay with her loved ones and she endured her long battle with her illnesses in Corsica Hills (The Genesis Pines) Nursing Center in Centreville, MD. That was her final resting spot where she succumbed to her illness. Carolyn was preceded in death by her mother, Henrietta (Dodd) Gibbs and father, Earl Wilson and the father that raised her, Ralph Dodd; her fiancé, Melvin Handy; grandson, Michael Waters, Jr., and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and grandparents. Carolyn received her education in the Queen Anne's County School Systems. She graduated with the class of 1973. She had various jobs taking care of the elderly and babysitting the neighborhood kids. She enjoyed doing them both. In life, Carolyn enjoyed spending time with family and friends “partying”, listening to her oldies but goodies every weekend. Everyone knew the party house in Church Hill was Carolyn’s house. She enjoyed the laughter and good times. She was loved by many and was enjoyed by most. No matter what she was going through she always managed to put a smile on a lot of faces. Her joy and smile would brighten up anyone’s day. Carolyn was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church in Church Hill, MD. Carolyn was first and for most a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, cousin and friend. Carolyn leaves to mourn two daughters, Jenelle (Keith, Jr.) Cannon of Harrington, DE and Monica (Gary) Lewis of Chestertown, MD; three grandchildren, Tre’ Wheeler, Jr, Kamera Lewis and Ka’Niya Cannon; five brothers, Richard (Dorothy) Dodd of Frederica, DE, Eric (Karen) Dodd of Chestertown, MD, Bobby Dodd of DE and Linwood Ringgold of Washington, DC; three aunts, Sarah Morgan of Philadelphia, PA, Sadie Warner of Newark, DE and Elizabeth Newton of Sudlersville, MD; one uncle, Charles Little of Newark, DE; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Carolyn L.
