Carolyn Bailey

Obituary On Monday, September 30, 2013, Our Father God sent his precious angels to bring his daughter Carolyn Lee Bailey home. She was born on February 1, 1953 in Baltimore, MD. She was the daughter of the late Emmanuel Bonner, Sr. and Lucy A. Bonner of Pantego, NC. Carolyn attending the Baufort County Schools. She graduated in 1971 from Pantego High School in North Carolina. After receiving her high school diploma, Carolyn moved to Brooklyn, New York where she worked for the Board of Education. This is also where she met and married Michael Hope, Sr. and had two sons, Michael H. Hope Jr. and the late Christopher A. Hope who passed away in 1997. After they divorced, she ventured to Norfolk, VA where she worked as a Executive Legal Secretary and it was where she met and married her husband, Sylvester O. Bailey and they had two girls, Shanell N. Bailey and Chavon R. Bailey. She worked many years for Schab & Barnett as a Legal Secretary. Due to an car accident, she became permanently disabled. After fighting a long battle with different ailments of various illnesses she passed. Carolyn’s greatest pleasure was relaxing and watching television in her bedroom, a place we began to call, "THE WHOLE ,THE DUNGEON.” She loved eating at buffets where she could pick and choose. You could catch her singing a Betty Wright song swaying, rocking and smiling saying "You don't know nothing about this girl" or yelling "That's my sperm ball." Carolyn was such a sweet and lovable person. Once meeting her, you would never forget her. She was the type of person that would take the clothes off her back to make sure you were warm and quick to fix a meal if you were hungry. She was proceeded in death by three brothers, Emanuel Jr., Alvin and Neil Bonner; a sister, Earline Davis and her dear son, Christopher A. Hope. She leaves to cherish her memories her oldest son, Michael Hope Jr. and two daughters, Shanell Bailey and Chavon Bailey both of Millsboro, DE; two sisters, Bernice Bonner (Ronnie Mason) of Millsboro, DE and Theresa Peartree (Joseph) of Washington, NC; two brothers, Frankie Bonner of Washington NC and Leander Bonner of Pantego, NC; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lenora and Isiah Bailey of Millsboro, DE; a sister-in-law, Estelle (Ronald) Isler; a special brother-in- law, John W. Davis of Newport News, VA; one uncle, Thomas Balance of Pantego, NC; one aunt, Frances of Belhaven, NC. She also leaves one step-daughter, Tamaro Thompson (Lee); two grandsons, Lamar Jr. and Lamarcus Thompson of Millsboro, DE; three granddaughters, Yevonte and Anye Smith both of Lincoln, DE and Na'Rysha Bailey “Her SUGA SUGA” of Millsboro, DE; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Carolyn was truly one of a kind; loved and accepted everyone for who they were. She was a strong, black, beautiful, loving mother, sister, wife and friend. She was one of God’s fallen angels.
