Brian O'Neal Redding

BRIAN’S JOURNEY Brian O'Neal Redding was born on November 24, 1972 to Arnelda Redding and the late James Reddding, Jr. He took his eternal rest on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at the age of forty-six (46). Brian was raised in Westover, Maryland by his mother and step-father, Omar White. Brian received his early education in Somerset County public schools. Early in his work career, Brian worked numerous years for the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in Dining Services. He later found his passion for truck driving. He graduated from CRST Training Center School of Trucking in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and went on to become a cross-country truck driver for CRST. Brian accepted Jesus as his personal Savior early in life. Growing up, he was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church in Westover, MD and later attended St. Mary's Missionary Baptist Church in Princess Anne, Maryland. Before his death, Brian attended St. Emmanuel Baptist Church in Denton, Texas. Brian was a member of East Gate Masonic Lodge #65 in Princess Anne, Maryland, where he achieved Senior Warden status. Known to many as Sol Britt or Big B, Brian was a joy to be around. Always having a joke or funny statement to share, he kept everyone around him laughing. Brian loved children and cared for many as if they were his very own. Aside from family Brian's most favorite thing was the Dallas Cowboys. From a child he loved and supported them. Good or bad seasons, no one could stop him from loving his favorite team. Brian loved having fun, watching old movies, texting and talking with family and friends. Brian was preceded in death by his father, James Redding, Jr., maternal grandparents, Fannie B. Moses and Richard Brittingham, paternal grandparents, James, Sr. and Helen Redding and a close cousin, Randolynn Cottman. Brian leaves to cherish precious memories: his loving mother and step-father Omar of Westover, MD; his wife of 6 years, Darlene Redding and three stepsons, Andre and Xavier Kellam and Isaiah Bunting, all of Denton, TX; one brother, James Redding III; one sister, Katrina (Craig, Sr.) Terrell, both of Salisbury MD; three brothers in love, David Scott, Clarenton Matthews and Bill Collier; one goddaughter, Daelynn Johnson; six aunts, Arvenia (William) Saunders, Annette Moses, Priscilla Redding, Laura (Jaye) Polk, Oneida (Darryl) Walker and Cherry Doane; two uncles, Theophilus (Ginger) Moses and Ronald (Iesha) Redding; one niece, Takia Ward; three nephews, Devin Redding, Craig Jr. and Michael Terrell; one great nephew, Takorie Ward and a host of great uncles, great aunts, cousins and friends.
