Brenda Mae White

Brenda Mae “Punk”, “Punkin” Belote White, a resident of New Church, Virginia, was born to the late Milton and Eunice Marshall Belote on Tuesday, March 27, 1956, in Stockton, Maryland. The angels quietly escorted her to her heavenly home Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at the Riverside Regional Medical Center, Newport News, Virginia. She was the fourth of eight children. “Punk” received her early education at Church Street Elementary School in Stockton, Maryland and graduated from Pocomoke High School, Pocomoke City, Maryland in 1974. Down through the years, Brenda was employed at Pocomoke High School as Office Assistant for several years, and Cheerleader Coach during a period of time, Save the Youth, Inc Program for nine years, North Salisbury Elementary School for twenty-three years, Urban Ministries’ After School program and did volunteer work at Shore-Up, Inc for several years. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Lloyd “Tree Top” White on April 12, 1991. Brenda was a quiet, soft-spoken person who loved working with and helping people. She would never say “no” to anyone that she felt she could help in any way. She loved kids and enjoyed working with them. She was the Youth Sunday School Teacher at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, Pocomoke City, Maryland until she relocated to Salisbury, Maryland. She later joined Wesley Temple United Methodist Church, where she sang on the Wesley Temple Gospel Choir and participated in several other church activities. Her favorite songs were “Amazing Grace”, “Ride Out Your Storm” and “I’m Free”. “Aunt Punk” was a “second mother” to some of her nieces and nephew, Lakeysha Fil-Aime, Demetrice Collier, Bria Bishop, Layla Pettit and Taelyn Belote, all of which will share loving memories of their Aunt and Friend. She touched the lives of so many people during her 66 years of life and those people cared deeply for her. Loving memories of Brenda’s life will be cherished and shared with her only child, daughter, Vanessa Sample, New Church, Virginia; three sisters, Gwendolyn Belote, Delmar, Maryland, Joyce (Lewis) Schoolfield, Salisbury, Maryland and Earline (Corbin) Drummond, Pocomoke City, Maryland; six brothers, Ronald (Lois) Belote, Berlin, Maryland, Donald (Donna) Belote and Richard (Deborah) Belote, Pocomoke City, Maryland, Ray (Marlina) Belote, Salisbury, Maryland, Larry (Robin) Belote, Seaford, Delaware and Milton Belote, Jr, Cambridge, Maryland; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews and cousins. Also, to cherish fond memories are her “special friends”, Brenda Cornish, Margie Jackson, Lisa Twilley, Jeanette Davis, Catherine Baker and Colonia Bivens. With Broken Hearts, The Family
