Belinda Yvette Morris

Yvette’s Memorable Journey Belinda Yvette Morris was born on July 25, 1961, the fifth child of six, of Delores Jones’ children. Yvette, as we family members called her, was baptized at Saint Frances de Sales Parish in Salisbury, Maryland. She was a graduate of Washington High School in Princess Anne, Somerset County, Maryland. Yvette worked for twenty-five years (25) at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland, where she retired in 2013 due to illness. Her co-workers called her Belinda, and many times she shared some of her on-the-job antics with us. One thing that stands out is that she would really “chat-you-up” if she trusted you just a little, or thought of you as a friend. A Leo at heart, if her mind was set on something being a certain way—there was absolutely no way of changing it—NONE! She’d say something like, “Why change perfection?” and give that huge, beautiful smile. At an early age, Yvette discovered that she loved to cook and would create her own signature entrees and desserts, one of which was her famous goulash. OH, and a Pepsi Cola with a delicious cheesesteak sub were a passion of hers. Her dry sense of humor, side jokes and comedic view of a variety of things were signature characteristics that were second to none. She took pride in family, Yes...in her loving spirit and the manner in which she cared for others; in fact, she had a thing whereas the people in her life were often identified by what each person shared with her, individually. For example, if she really liked something you were wearing, she’d tell you, “Before you go, you can leave those earrings, or that purse on the table…”or if you’d just purchased something and showed it to her, she would nicely take the bag with the item in it, hold it dearly...hugging the bag and say, “Thank you” with that same big smile...that we all love and will remember. Yvette was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed a huge family and a small circle of friends, a few of them co-workers. She enjoyed riding out—and those rides would take her to area malls, traveling and dining out, and to social events, that we have had so often. She was a true bargain shopper from the heart. If there was an award or a big prize to win for that, she would be named the “Super Saver.” she was very proud of that and would let others know what was on sale, where and tell you to get a “rain check” if all else failed. An ANGEL was called to rest on Tuesday, October 15, 2014. Yvette is preceded by 1 year and 1 month to the day by her Mother, Delores. Those left to cherish her memories are: Daughter, Sherri and Son-in-law John; Son, Tré; Grandchildren, Gabrielle, Donovan, Evan and Maxwell; Sisters, Dee-Dee, Jackie and Pam; Brother-in-law, Billy; Brothers, Ronnie and Franklin; a very special cousin, Janice; a lifelong friend, Bruce, and a host of other cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many other family and friends.
