Augustus Henry "Tyrone" Lake Sr.

Smile with me as I go home to rest.” Augustus (Tyrone) Henry Lake, Sr. was born in Wilmington, Delaware, in the Wilmington Memorial Hospital on June 5, 1947 to the late Percy and Mable Lake. Augustus was better know as “Big Daddy” and “Pop Pop.” Tyrone was the oldest of nine siblings. Tyrone was married to Charity L. Jones on January 26, 1968 and of this union, they had six children. Tyrone worked as a skilled laborer for J. A. Moore Construction, a truck driver for Koski Trucking, Willie Turner Trucking and Buddy Harrison, all in Maryland. He loved wildlife and nature, especially hunting. One thing that was always uplifting to him was spending time with his brothers. In his youth, Tyrone attended East New Market Church of God in East New Market, Maryland. His favorite hymn was At the Cross. Tyrone was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Dwaine N. Lake; and a brother, Sherlwood Lake. Tyrone leaves to mourn his loss, 4 brothers and 3 sisters, Percy Lake, Jr. (Ida), of Hurlock, MD, Preston Lake of Rhodesdale, MD, Patricia Lake of Madison, MD, Vandora Lake of Oklahoma City, OK, Leroy Lake (Diane) of Parsonburg, MD, Alvin Lake (Wanda) of Federalsburg, MD, and Sherlmaine Jenkins (Dwight) of Hurlock, MD; his children, 1dauther and six sons, Augustus H. Lake, Jr. (Tiffany) of Jacksonville, FL, Byrone L. Lake of Frankford, DE, Jeffrey C. Lake (Victoria) of Bridgeville, DE, Michael N. Lake (Britney) of Houston, TX, DeAnna M. Douglas (Anthony) of Charlotte, NC, and Carlos Brouillet (Tasha) of Frankfort, MI; five aunts and three uncles, Jerlean Dockins (Marcellas) of Cambridge, MD, Wardell Jones (Louise) of Baltimore, MD, Mary Pinkett of Hurlock, MD, Margaret Lawson of Cambridge, MD, Milton Jones (Gloria) of Cambridge, MD, Anna Jones of Seaford, DE; 16 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
