Anthony Bailey

Anthony E. Bailey, the son of Cora Bailey and the late Howard Bailey Sr., was born on June 22, 1962, in Seaford, Delaware. He departed his earthly life, peacefully and gracefully, on January 10, 2020, at home in Milton, Delaware. He was 57 years old. Anthony received his early education in the Woodbridge School District, graduating from Woodbridge High School in 1981. After high school, Anthony joined the Delaware National Guard, where he served for 30 years, until he retired. He worked for Don-Lee Margin Co. and Mountaire, before he decided to attend college. In 1995, he enrolled at Delaware Technical & Community College and graduated in 1997, with an Associate Degree in Automotive Technology. After graduating from Del-Tech, he began working at In and Out Car Care. Next, he worked for the Delaware State Police in Bridgeville, later moving to Headquarters in Dover, Delaware until he retired. Anthony was a faithful and dedicated member of St. John 2nd Baptist Church. He loved working at the church with computer technology, lighting, and audiovisual equipment. He was an all around handyman. His favorite songs were Because He Lives, I Pray We All Be Ready, and Open The Flood Gates of Heaven. His hobbies included bowling, fishing, and cooking. He was always having a cook-off with his oldest brother, Howard, and children, David, Dontez, and Crystal. Anthony was preceded in death by his stepmother, Maggie Bailey and two brothers, Harold Bailey and Alfred Bailey. Anthony leaves to cherish fond memories, his wife of 20 years and caretaker, Mary Bailey, Milton, DE; five sons, Jordan Bailey, Seaford, DE, David Collins, Dontez Collins (Shaila) and William Wilson of Milton, DE and Phillip Wilson (Linda) of Denver, CO; two daughters, Tiffany Eley (Jarrell) of Delmar, DE and Crystal Wilson of Milton, DE; mother, Cora Bailey of Harrington, DE; five brothers, Howard Bailey Jr. (Sandra), Elmer Bailey (Teresa) of Seaford, DE; Albert Bailey (Patsy) and Howard Neal (Coretta) both of Bridgeville, DE and Edward Neal (Lisa) of Newark, DE; two sisters, Felicia Bailey of Harrington, DE and Sherry Banks of Seaford, DE; six grandchildren, My’asia Handy, David Collins III, Daiymir Collins, Jada Eley, Daylen Collins and Jewell Eley; one aunt, Angeline Smith, Seaford, DE; two godchildren, Renee Hennigan and Trevon Smith; three special friends and Army Veterans, Desmond Kilgoe and Vincent Glover; his special riding partner, Otis Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives, friends and church family.
