Anika Tiaomeka Jenkins

Anika’s Life Story Anika Tia Omeka Jenkins transitioned from labor to reward on Friday, August 13, 2021, at John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. She was born on January 1, 1976 in Cambridge, Maryland, daughter of the late Vanessa Ann Jenkins and Elijah Pittman (Hitman). She was educated in the public school system of Dorchester County, Maryland. Anika graduated with the class of 1993 from Cambridge South Dorchester High School. Anika loved the Lord and she accepted Him at a young age at Union Chapel AME Church in Cordtown, Maryland. Her favorite hymn that she truly loved was “He Turned It”, by Tye Tribbett. She was employed at Amick Farms, McDonald’s and Wendy’s. Her last place of employment, however, was at Texas Roadhouse. Anika loved to cook and she did it very well. She had a heart of gold, and was a very compassionate person who loved her family. She loved her two cats, “Precious” and “Sassy” as well. Anika leaves a legacy of love and precious memories with: her two sons, Efrem C. Murray, Jr. and Keizye D. Collins, both of Cambridge, MD; a very special and devoted friend, Yolanda Crafton of Baltimore, MD; two sisters, Shonda Jenkins and Rasheka Molock (Darnell), both of Cambridge, MD; one brother, Eric Keene (Shenell) of Victorville, California; three uncles, Tyrome Elliott (Sandra) of Catonsville, MD, Charles Jackson of Salisbury, MD and James (Bert) Ennals of Cambridge, MD; two great uncles, Palestine (Mary) Elliott, Sr. of Odenton, MD and Frederick Elliott (Constance) of Cambridge, MD; three aunts, Renako Randall of Baltimore, MD, Margaret Simms of Catonsville, MD and Diane Ennals of Brunswick, New Jersey; one adopted aunt, Daphne Dolberry (Darnell); two special aunts, Constance Elliott and Mary Elliott Stanley; four nephews, Jabron Moore, Akeem Davis, Ciar Camper, and Jazion Molock, all of Cambridge, MD; several great nieces, great nephews, and a host of devoted cousins, other relatives and friends. Three special cousins, Christine Jones, Faye Carson and Kenny Harris, Jr. and special friends, Janelle Thompson, Yashica Pinder, Tamba Rideout and Keisha Adams will also cherish precious memories of Anika’s life. In addition to her mother, Vanessa Ann Jenkins and her father, Elijah Pittman (Hitman), Anika was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Reverend Marvella Travis and Arvil Jenkins, paternal grandparents, Charles and Lena Pittman, uncle, Terrence Jenkins, niece, Kaylin Bailey and several great aunts and uncles.
