Anderson Lewis Blake Sr.

Anderson’s Journey Anderson Lewis Blake, Sr., son of Aaron Jacobs and the late Ruth Collins, was born on April 11, 1954 in Stockton Maryland. He departed this life on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at Perry Point VA in Perryville, Maryland. Blake, as he was affectionately called, graduated from Worcester High School in 1972, where he took up the trade of brick laying. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Army. Following an honorable discharge from the Army, Blake then joined the 1229th National Guard Unit of Crisfield, Maryland. Blake traveled in the beginning of the Vietnam Era in 1972. His service took him to places around the globe including the Gulf War, Germany and Saudi Arabia. His honors for service included becoming an E6 body welder instructor, auto body mechanic, Good Conduct MDL, 1st award parachute badge, National defense service medal, expert M16 marksman point 50 Caliber pistol and he also took a fundamentals of counseling course. In his spare time, Blake enjoyed sitting out in his garage (that he built himself) working on his red hooptie, puffing on his old pipe and sipping on a nice cold brewski. Blake loved family gatherings. He enjoy spending time with his grand and great grands. He was a very caring person. He would do anything for anyone within his means. He had a good heart. Blake leaves to cherish memories of his life: his loving wife, Christine “Chris” Blake of Salisbury, Maryland; three sons, Anderson, Jr. (Carol) Blake of Pflugerville, Texas, Pastor Eric (Leslie) Thomas of Dunn, North Carolina and William Richardson (Tilisha) of Salisbury, Maryland; three sisters, Evangelist Mary (Minster Kenneth) Palmer of Fruitland, Maryland, Ruth (Ronnie) Schoolfield of Pocomoke, Maryland and Teresa Collins (Corey ) of Salisbury, Maryland; one brother, Ronnie Blake (Sharon) of Elkton, Maryland; two aunts, Lynette (McKinley) Smith of Snow Hill, Maryland and Janice Collins of Stockton, Maryland; three uncles, John Wallop (Debbie) of Pocomoke, Maryland, Ronnie Collins of Pocomoke, Maryland and Jerome Collins of Snow Hill, Maryland; one special sister-in-law, Lisa (Bop) Cordell of Salisbury, Maryland; two other sisters-in-law, Karen and Annette; two brothers-in-law, Lamont and Terry; twelve (12) grandchildren; fifteen (15) great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Blake was preceded in death by one daughter, Angela Marie Bratten, one son, Tony Blake and one aunt, Wendy Collins. Lovingly Submitted ~ The Family
