Alice Mae Collins

Alice Mae (White) Collins was born on March 30, 1939 to the late Colon and Shellie White. She departed this life on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Manokin Manor in Princess Anne, Maryland. Alice was raised in the Venton area of Princess Anne with her parents and eight siblings, and received her education in the Somerset County public school system. She was employed at Green Giant in Fruitland, Maryland from where she retired after years of service. After retirement, Alice became a caregiver and domestic worker for many years to multiple families. In 1980, in the living room of her sister Ruth Ann’s house, Alice was united in Holy Matrimony to the love of her life, William “Bo” Collins, whom she loved until her passing. A former member of Grace United Methodist Church in Venton, Maryland, Alice served as a choir member of the Ventoneers but always considered Trinity United Methodist Church in Mount Vernon her second church home. Alice was also an active member of Saint James United Methodist Church in Westover, Maryland until her health declined in the recent years. Alice enjoyed traveling out of town to the race tracks and hosting parties at home with her husband before his passing. She also enjoyed shopping, eating out, talking on the phone (especially to her 8:30 Sunday morning phone partner, Dollie Wallace) and watching some of her favorite shows like Family Feud if she wanted a good laugh at Steve Harvey, the Impact Television Network for the word and singing, the Lifetime Movie Network for a good drama movie and let’s not forget her soaps. Surviving to treasure precious memories of Alice are: three children, William “Billy Boy” Jones (Rhonda), Veronica “Ronnie” Robinson and Jan (Weltonia) Jones; eight grandchildren, Joseph (Lanny), Desmond, Chantell, Janise, Adrienne, Lakeisha (KeKe), Jakai and Brooklyn; four siblings, Charles, Ruth Ann, Wanda and Alonzo (Dickie); two aunts, Clementine Spence and Jessie Spence and a host of brothers- and sisters-in- law, nieces, nephews, great grands, other relatives and friends. Alice was preceded in death by: her husband of forty (40) years, William “Bo” Collins; daughter, Shirley (Ann) Jones; great grandson, Quayvon Johnson; brothers, Colon (Bobby) and Louis; sisters, Shelley (Sis), Thelma and Madeline; two step children, Cynthia King and William Collins, Jr.; a best friend, Clariece Hitch and a host of brothers- and sisters-in-law.
