Alfred Lee Lofland

The Life and Legacy of Alfred Lee Lofland Alfred Lee Lofland, a resident of Salisbury, Maryland, departed this life at the age of seventy-five (75) on January 7, 2023. He was born on September 28, 1947 to the late John Amos Lofland and Elizabeth (Ella) Smith in Delaware. Al was educated in the Sussex County school system. The last school of attendance was William C. Jason High School. Al was a firm believer of hard work. He had various employment throughout his years. He was employed with Perdue Farms for fourteen (14) years. His last employment was with B&G Foods until his retirement in 2006. Affectionately known as “Pop”, he was always the center of attention. He knew how to make you either mad or laugh uncontrollably. Alfred loved to make jokes about everything, even in serious moments. He was known for his creative dance moves and exaggerated stories. He had an enormous impact on EVERYONE with whom he came in contact. Al found time to always help his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. Whether it was taking them to the park, putting them on the bus, babysitting, or taking them to the store, they were always his priority. Taking the kids to the store was his way of going for himself; he loved to play his lottery numbers or as he would say, “I got to get my number in.” Alfred leaves to mourn: five children, Celeste Lofland, Alfred Johnson (Vanessa), Kiya Lofland, Garance Garrison (Olivia) and Alfred Lofland, Jr. (Cloteal); three step-children, Tony Hill (Melissa), Milton Edwards and Cindy Edwards; eighteen grandchildren, Nicole Johnson, Kissaundra Thomas, Steffon Holbrook, Elijah White, Jerome Yancey, Justin Johnson-Lofland, Justin Hastings, Cierra David, Madyson Hill, Mason Hill, Michai Lofland, A’John Lofland, A’nais Lofland, Avery Garrison, Issac Pike, Katrell Smith, Kalaila Walters and Kaleel Walters; ten great-grandchildren, Kamari Yancey, Eniya Monroe, Kaiden Johnson, Kai’meira Brown, Kai’mya Ennals-Black, Kaylee Johnson, Karter Johnson, Rylee White, Zymere Holbrook and Karson Hastings and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives. He was preceded in death by: his siblings, Amos Lofland, Howard Lofland, Margaret Lofland, Stella Lofland, Richard Lofland, Wagner Lofland and Wayne Lofland; one grandchild, Kaimel Ennals; one great-grandchild, Jamar Monroe, Jr. and a lifelong companion, Shirley Edwards.
