Wesley Jefferson Jr.

Wesley Jefferson Jr. was called home to rest on Sunday, January 17, 2021 with his beloved wife JoAnn Jefferson by his side in Newark, Delaware at the age of 68. Wesley was born on Wednesday, June 4, 1952, in Jersey City, NJ to the late Wesley, SR and Viola Jefferson. Wesley met his wife, JoAnn Jefferson, at the age of 21 in Marion Gardens located in Jersey City, NJ. Wesley served in the US Marine Corps and after graduation, JoAnn and he were joined in holy matrimony. They later moved to Highland Park, NJ and he began working at Revlon in Edison, NJ. Wesley was definitely one-of-a-kind. He enjoyed singing, listening to his oldie but goodies, watching boxing, basketball, and football. He was a very smart man who loved a good debate. You give him a topic and he would go back and forth with you until he convinced you he was right. He liked playing dominos and cards, but he was a pro at handball. He would beat anyone who played against him. His biggest joys in life besides his wife was spending time with his family, he just loved being with them as well talking to his grandkids and great grands. They brought him so much joy. Wesley was predeceased by his 2 kids (twins) JoAnn and Wesley, 5 siblings Doris Jefferson, Charles Jefferson, Franklin Jefferson, Naomi Jefferson, and Kenneth Jefferson Wesley is survived by his loving wife, Jo Ann ("Jo") Jefferson of Smyrna, DE; 4 daughters Ranida ("Nida") Greene of Jersey City NJ; Alisia ("Sharp") Braithwaite (Lorne) of Westampton, NJ; Tamika ("my baby") Peeples (Charles) of Charlotte, NC; and Elizabeth ("baby girl") Lee (Rakene) of Stafford, VA; 1 son Tyrone Greene (Kalesha) of Boston, Ma. He leaves to cherish precious memories to his 6 siblings, James Fordham (Carol), Lucille Jefferson, Charlotte Jefferson, Thomasina Laribo (Delbert), Alice Jefferson, Tina Devine; 19 grand kids; 2 very special grandsons RJ (favorite lil partner) Lee, Tyrell (my boy) Brace, 14 great grandkids; 2 very special great grandsons Chris (my little guy), Ashton (bad boy/Taz) a host of nephews, nieces; 2 very special nieces Shonda (Strong One) Jackson, Sharnice (Baby) Jackson and a host of friends. Although his passing is hard to bear, we must continue to hope and believe that Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal.
