The Life and Legacy of Robert Taylor Robert Lee Taylor, affectionately known as “Bobby”, was the 6th child born to the late Harold and Inez Taylor in Miona, Virginia on March 16, 1950. He departed this life to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 18, 2022. Bobby received his education in Accomack County public schools. He played baseball growing up. It was said that he was a great baseball pitcher who should have gone pro. He was a hardworking man. Over the years, he held several jobs including the Town of Ocean City Water Department, Perdue and Salisbury University (SU). Bobby worked at SU for 33 years, obtaining the position of lead worker in housekeeping. He was frequently honored for his hard work, loyalty, and dedication. He retired in November 2021. Bobby accepted Christ and was an active member of New Macedonia Baptist Church in Pocomoke City, Maryland where he loved to attend weekly Sunday morning service until his health began to fail. Bobby enjoyed life and spending time with his family and friends, especially over food. His kind, playful and friendly demeanor was how his light shined for Christ. He was a big fan of football where he supported his favorite team, the New England Patriots. He loved fast cars from his Nissan 240 SX to his GT 5.0 Mustang to his Jaguar, just to name a few. Bobby took pride in his cars; they were always detailed, never dirty and wiped down daily. Just like he loved stylish cars, he loved stylish clothes and shoes. He took pride in his appearance and shopping was one of his favorite pastimes. His outfits always matched from head to toe. His pants were known for deep creases and jeans deep creased with heavy starch. He was always sharp! Bobby, a great pool player, was a member of Aunt Gussie’s Crew at Breaktime in Salisbury, Maryland. In 2008, he helped his team to win first place in Division 693, Tier 1 which took them to the APA 8-Ball National Tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was the ultimate team player and to him there was no “I”; it was all about “we.” Bobby leaves to cherish fond memories: the love of his life for 34 years, his wife Shalinda Taylor; two sons, Robert Taylor, Jr. (Sherrie) and Rashawn Taylor (Tonya); two daughters, Kristy Davis and Nicole Smith; nine grandchildren, Khyasia Taylor-Nelson, Tyequira Taylor-Nelson, Hailey Taylor, Najee Taylor-Nelson, Zahir Jackson, Imani Marshall, Ian Cottman, Rylie Taylor and Makenzie Taylor; one great grandchild, Takai Taylor-Nelson; two brothers, Billy Taylor and George Taylor; four sisters, Thelma Donald, Hazel Taylor, Geraldine Taylor and Hester Ann Taylor; mother-in-law, Recie Hope; two aunts, Pauline Hall and Mildred Milbourne; two uncles, Willie Harmon and Vernon Taylor and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Catherine Taylor and Audrey Corbin and one brother William Taylor. Submitted With Lots of Love ~ The Family
