Obituary “We’ve lost another thread from our family quilt, but our faith must remain strong.” Princess Francine Bailey, affectionately known as “Teen,” was born to Elmer Ames and the late Catherine Lyons on April 19, 1951. She was called home on Tuesday, March 13, 2018. Francine was educated in the Northampton County school system in Eastville, Virginia. “Teen” was a living angel here on earth. Those who knew her remember her for her spiritual aura. She always had a kind word, no matter who it was. She was extremely shy and humble but when it came to the Lord, to whom she gave her life years ago, she rejoiced and praised loud and clear. “Teen” loved her family and friends, her flowers and most of all her Almighty God. She loved to relax by tending to her many flower and plants. Anyone with an ailing plant knew to take it to her to bring it back to life. Her husband, Butch, fondly remembers her always standing at the door making hand motions to stay away from her flowers whenever he mowed the lawn. She loved traveling and even though her legs bothered her when doing a lot of walking, she would always go anyway to make lifelong memories with her family. She was the peacemaker of he family. She never took sides, but somehow knew just how to turn a bad situation into a peaceful one. Her husband, Butch, says its just not the same. Her children say, “It'll be hard to carry on. Her siblings say she will be truly missed, but one of Teen’s favorite quotes was, “God’s got it.” She was true to her faith and believed that through Christ, all things were possible. Teen was preceded in death by her mother, Catherine Lyons, sister, Alma Lyons, grandson, Uriah Lyons, brothers-in-law, Bobby and Ronald Widgeon. She leaves to cherish precious memories: her husband, Elliot “Butch” Bailey of Eastville, VA; two daughters, Stephanie Lyons of Eastville, VA and Hope Lyons of Cheriton, VA; two sons, Willie Lyons (Shamieka) of Culls, VA and Craig Lyons (Marketa) of Exmore, VA; granddaughters, Tyosha (Brandon), Grace, Shikalia, Amariyona, Princess, Merci, Maya, Brielle, AAmyrie and Aiah; grandsons, Dquaun, Kobe, Urijah and Jayace; great granddaughter, Kyleigh and great grandson, Kameron; sisters, Karen Lyons of Eastville VA, Brenda Lyons of Weirwood, VA, Lois Lyons (Al) of Clearwater, FL, Harriet Smith (Upsher) of Eastville, VA, Mary Lyons of Ocala, FL, Kimberly Ames of Culls, VA; her brother, Andrew Lyons of Germany; one aunt, Sarah Wimber of Eastville, VA; sister-in-law, Ramona Widgeon of Cheriton, VA; three brothers-in-law, Cecil Widgeon of DE, Ernest Widgeon of Newport News, VA and Danny Burrows of New Jersey and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews, cousins and friends.
