Paulette Lyvonia Jones

Obituary Paulette Lyvonia Jones, a resident of Salisbury, Maryland, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury, Maryland at the age of sixty-nine (69). Paulette was born on April 27, 1948 in Cambridge, Maryland to the late William Hezekiah Johnson and Mary Pauline Johnson. She graduated from Maces Lane High School in the Class of 1966. Paulette attended Coppin State, Bowie State College and completed her education at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in Princess Anne, Maryland with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education. Paulette worked at RJ Reynolds (Delmonte) in Cambridge, Maryland for fifteen (15) years. After working in several daycares, Paulette pursued a lifelong dream of opening her own Child Care Center in her home. Later, she became employed by Maple Shade Group Home. After several years she decided on a career change, but continued to care for others. Paulette became employed by Wicomico County Health Department as a caregiver to the elderly. In 2015, Paulette retired and continued to help where needed as a caregiver for her family members. She also provided childcare services for her great, great niece, Noelle. On October 31, 1970 Paulette married the love of her life, Clevon “Doc” Jones and to this union one son, Clevon “Junnie” Jones was born. They also raised her niece, Vashti Johnson, as their own. Paulette loved to cook and eat. On any given day, you could come by the house and smell the aroma of the chicken frying or homemade rolls baking. She loved to try new recipes, especially cakes and cookies. Paulette leaves to cherish her memory: her devoted husband of forty- seven (47) years, Clevon “ Doc” Jones; her one and only son, Clevon “Junnie” Jones; three sisters, Cynthia (Erskine) Floyd of Baltimore, Maryland, Blanche “Baby Dee” (Robert) Wright of Exton, Pennsylvania and Rosalind Gates of Salisbury, Maryland; her grandchildren, Clevon Jones, Alexander (Patessa) Jones, Alvera Armwood and Malachi Watson, all of Salisbury, Maryland, Ivey Johnson, Grayson, GA; one aunt, Betty Erving of Madison, Maryland; brothers-in-law, Lycurtis (Beulah) Jones of Airey, Maryland, Clifton (Shirley) Jones of Delmar, Maryland and Edward Jones of Blades, Delaware; sisters-in-law, Delores Jones, Parthenia (Hansel) Greene and Joanne Dickerson, all of Cambridge, Maryland and a special niece, Lisa Johnson, who was her caregiver and by her side daily. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Ollie Mae Johnson. Paulette will be missed by every who loved her.
