Clarence Copeland

Clarence William Copeland, affectionately known as CC to family and friends, was the beloved son of the late Thomas Pete Copeland and Almira Anderson Copeland. Clarence was born in Snow Hill, Maryland on April 18, 1928 and resided at Hartley Hall Rehabilitation Center in Pocomoke City, Maryland until he was called home on Sunday, December 15, 2013. CC accepted Christ at an early age as a member of St. James Holiness Church in Snow Hill, Maryland. Later he moved to Salisbury, Maryland and became a member of United Faith Church of Deliverance. Finally settling down in Pocomoke City, Maryland CC became a faithful member of New Macedonia Baptist Church where he loved to sing on the Inspirational Choir and brag to others about Bishop Isaac Jenkins, Sr. Clarence served as a police officer for New York City Police Department for many years before retuning to the eastern shore of Maryland. On the eastern shore, he worked for various poultry plants including Mountaire Farms in Selbyville Delaware. He also drove taxi for Salisbury and Pocomoke City Cab, where he enjoyed meeting and communicating with many people. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Holland Copeland of Delaware; three daughters—Alfreda (Westly) Haynes, Diane Coplin and Sylvia Coplin; one stepson, Dwight (Patricia) Miles whom he loved as his own, all of Salisbury, Maryland; one sister Alice (Charles) Avery of North Carolina; four brothers—Thomas Copeland, Sr., Lee (Laura Ann) Copeland, Laurence Copeland and David (Elaine) Copeland, Sr. all of Salisbury, Maryland; mother-in-law Grace Holland of Salisbury, Maryland; two sisters-in-law—Maureen and Manetta Holland, both of Salisbury, Maryland; twelve grandchildren, 20 great grand children, one great-great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Clarence was preceded in death by one daughter, Gail Coplin, one grand daughter Shulanda Fields, 2 great grandsons, Kinte Holden, Jr. and Giovannie Fields; three sisters—Marcelina Copeland, Lottie May Fedderman and Annie Pearl Copeland and one brother Westly Copeland.
