Rachel A. Warren, of Pine Haven Road near Argos Corner, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 18, 2010. Mrs. Warren was born on April 19, 1925 in Slaughter Neck, Delaware.
She was a hard worker and during her lifetime worked at various occupations, including 27 years at Draper King Cole before her retirement. She had a love for people, flowers and fashion, most notably her “Sunday hats”. She was a longtime member of Mt. Enon Baptist Church in Milford, having served as an usher and in the kitchen during her earlier years.
Mrs. Warren is predeceased by her husband of 44 years, David S. Warren; youngest son, Dennis J. Warren; grandson, Michael McClain and son-in-law, Frank McClain.
She leaves to celebrate her life four daughters: Blanche Causey (Melvin, d), Houston, DE; Emma Powell (Marvin), Lincoln, DE; Rev. Thelma McClain (Frank, d), Milton, DE; Barbara Maddox (Collins), Lewes, DE; one son David M. Warren, Lincoln, DE; 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, beloved nephew James Daniels, and great-niece Brenda Silvils, and a host of additional nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
