Spencer Tracy Evans was born on December 14, 1964 in Philadelphia, PA to Jennie Chapman and Tracy Evans. On February 9, 2010, he was called home to rest in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior.
After moving to Delaware at the age of 12, he continued his education in the Capital School District of Dover, DE. He returned to Philadelphia, PA to further his education at the Community College of Philadelphia. He began his career working with USA Today News media. He then ventured to Atlanta, GA and worked in communications at CNN Broadcasting Network until his illness. He did volunteer work in the Mayor’s Office while in Atlanta.
Spencer had several passions namely bowling, mentoring students in the elementary schools, gardening, and helping others in any capacity that he could.
He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, his aunt Mary Ann Bostic, and cousin Dwayne Bostic, Sr.
He leaves to cherish his beloved parents, Jennie Chapman and Tracy Evans; stepgrandmother of Lucy Allen, Millsboro, DE; three brothers, Maurice Evans (Needa) of Sturtgart, Germany, Jason Hall (Yvette) of Pennsauken, NJ, and Jodie Benson of Philadelphia, PA; three sisters, Angeline Evans, Fetima Evans and Tracey Evans, all of Philadelphia, PA; three aunts, Delores Easley of Virginia Beach, VA, Lisa Hendrix of Miami, FL and Evelyn Duncan of New York; three uncles, Ernest Evans (Rena) of Paoli, PA, Spencer Evans of Philadelphia, PA, and George Pearson, also of Philadelphia, PA; one godson Darryl Cleveland of Philadelphia, PA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends to celebrate his legacy to include four special friends, Sylvia Cleveland-Jackson, Brenda Munson, Paul Stallings and Wayner Crowder.
His memory will continue to live in the hearts and minds of those who knew him.
