Obituary:
Very quietly and peacefully on Friday, February 12, 2010, Almighty God, in His infinite wisdom, gently closed the eyes of our beloved SHIRLEY FRANCIS.

Mrs. Francis was born on March 15, 1946 in Collinsville, MS. She graduated from Middletown Attendance in Meridian, MS.

She retired from the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Elsmere, DE where she had been a dedicated employee.

Shirley was joined in Holy Matrimony to Lee Francis on July 21, 1972. She loved to listen to a variety of music especially gospel songs, where her favorite song was “The Battle Is Not Yours, It’s The Lord’s”. She had been an avid reader, enjoyed sewing, crocheting and cross stitching.

In addition to her father, Rev. Esau Lewis, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Debbra Johnson and a brother Charles Lewis.

She is survived by her husband Lee Francis; one daughter Sherel Ott of Felton, DE; her mother Emma Lewis of Collinsville, MS; two sisters, Rose Taylor (Monty) of Staten Island, NY and Felinda Boose of Collinsville, MS; five brothers, Benjamin Lewis (Carol) of Willingboro, NJ; Jack Lewis (Pearl) of Orlando, FL; Walter Lewis of Meridian, MS; Perry Lewis (Diane) of Collinsville, MS; Gregory Lewis (Flossie) of Philadelphia, MS; two granddaughters, Janai Bibbins-Johnson and Jasmine Bibbins-Johnson; brother-in-law Marvin Francis (Anita) of Dover, DE; sister-in-law Diane Hollins of Landover, MD; and a host of additional relatives and friends.
