Vera Loretta Moore departed this life on January 26, 2010 after living a long life. Vera was born on April 9, 1917 to John Wilson Tindley and Leah Virginia Hines Tindley in Selbyville, Delaware and was one of nine children, all of whom preceded her in death. She received her education at the public schools in Selbyville.

Prior to her retirement, she worked at the Stockley Center for thirteen years. Vera was a quiet, sincere, loving, no-nonsense person loved by all the children in her family. She was a person who people called to discuss their problems and often accepted her advice. She was a devoted Mother who was always close to her daughter. She became a member of Zoar United Methodist Church at an early age. She sang on the Young Adult Choir, was a member of the United Methodist women where she was the Treasurer and Secretary, was Secretary for the Administrative Board, charge Conference Secretary, and Secretary for the Committee on Nominations. She was very dedicated to the Church and loved to watch religious programs on television.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories, one daughter, Etta Moore of Selbyville; one son, Raymond (Patricia) Moore, Sr. of Selbyville; one granddaughter, Dana Moore of Selbyville; two grandsons, Raymond (Kathy) Moore, Jr. of Tennessee and Jerrod Jarmon of Selbyville; two granddaughters, Madison and Mackenzie of Tennessee; one extended daughter, Winnie Chandler of Wilmington; one sister-in-law, Aldermae Tindley of Dover; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
