Joseph Powell, son of the late William Powell, Sr. and Irene Powell, was born on January 8, 1942. He departed this life on January 13, 2010 in the Courtland Manor Nursing Home in Dover, DE.
Joe was educated in the New Castle County Public Schools. Before his illness, he attended Bethany U.A.M.E. Church in New Castle, DE where he sang on the Senior Choir.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight brothers and one sister.
He leaves to cherish his memory one sister Elizabeth L. Powell; and a host of nieces and nephews who loved him dearly; three sisters-in-law and friends. Joe will be missed by all who knew him.
