Ernest James Lambert, nearly 64, died December 16, 2009, with his family by his side in New Castle, DE.
He was born December 17, 1945, in Marshallton, DE to Norman and Sadie Lambert. He attended Absalom Jones School and later graduated from John Dickinson High School. He worked for the Abex Corporation for fifteen years. Afterwards, he retired from New Castle County in 2008 after nineteen years of service.
Ernie, as he was affectionately known, enjoyed gardening and providing lawn. He also enjoyed watching television, listening to the radio, and loved eating crabs.
Mr. Lambert is survived by his devoted wife of thirty-four years, Ruth Lambert; three daughters, Angela and Shamika Lambert, and Marquita Mickey; son-in-law, Erich Mickey, Sr., three grandchildren, Erich Jr., Elijah, and Ernest Mickey; brother, Harold Lambert; three sisters Bertha Gray, Gladys Wheeler, and Mary Lambert and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded by his parents Norman and Sadie Lambert, his brothers and sisters Norman Jr., Marjorie Roberts, Doris Watson, Robert, Charles, Arrie, Bernice, and Raymond Lambert.
