Obituary:
Shirley Wilson, daughter of the late Robert Montgomery and the late Georgia C. Godfrey, was born on March 17, 1933 in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed this life on Thursday, December 10, 2009 in the comfort of her home. She received her education at St. Elizabeth's Catholic School in Baltimore, Maryland.

On August 13, 1950 she was united in holy matrimony to the late Isaiah Wilson, Jr. During this time Shirley worked as a cashier for six years and then went on to work as a nurse's aid at Randallstown Hospital in Randallstown, Maryland. From this union came three children: Georgia C. Stanford, Louise Wilson-Thompson, and Isaiah Wilson, III.

In 1972 she retired and relocated to Wilmington, Delaware with her late husband and family.

Among many of her hobbies, Shirley enjoyed crocheting, bowling, and spending time with her family. Shirley was known for her chicken and rice and dancing.

She was a devoted child of Christ. Throughout her life she attended several churches: St. Ambrose Catholic Church, the Abundant Life Christian Church where she was baptized on April 20, 1992, Pilgrim Baptist Church where she enjoyed attending outings with the Super Sixties, and more recently attended Allen A.M.E. Church. At Allen A.M.E. Church she enjoyed fellowshipping with her peers. She was a mother of the Women Warriors of Delaware.

Shirley leaves to cherish in her memory. two daughters, Georgia C. Stanford of Queen Anne, MD, and Louise Wilson-Thompson of New Castle, DE; a son, Isaiah Wilson, III of Wilmington, DE; two son-in-laws, William W. Stanford and Sterling Thompson; and daughter-in-law, Joyce A. Wilson. She also leaves behind 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grand children, a devoted Aunt Margaret Dorsey, and a host of cousins, in-laws, family, and friends.
