Obituary:
On Wednesday morning, February 24, 2010, at The Delaware Hospice, surrounded by his Wife, and loving family members, Assistant Overseer Abraham Stewart peacefully went home to be with The Lord.

Abraham Stewart was born on August 19, 1937 in Sheldon, South Carolina to the late Bishop Isiah E. Stewart and the late Evangelist Albertha Stewart. He graduated from Haaren High School, N.Y.C. in June 1955, majoring in Commercial Arts. He was a gifted artist, and loved drawing. He favored illustrations and lettering, While attending New York City Community College, he became very disheartened by the prejudice he faced in the commercial arts field and difficulties minorities encountered when trying to obtain jobs in that particular field. Forced with the reality of having to earn a living, he changed fields, and began working as an auto mechanic and in the import/export industry. In February 1975, he attended and graduated from Hostos Community College of Bronx NY, where he received his Bachelor's Degree and began his career as an X-Ray Technician; after thirty years, he retired in December 2002.

Abraham gave his life to the Lord in the early 1950's. Having a passion for singing, Abraham sang with The Coronets and recording group, The Gospel Prayer Wheels. He also formed the Stewart Family singing group, made up of his seven children. The seed he planted and nurtured continues to flourish as his children continue to sing praises and play instruments for God. He served as the YTS Ensemble's Business Manager from 1990-1995.

In 1960, Abraham met Margaret Ann Marshall and, according to his own words, fell instantly in love with her. On Friday, May 26th, 1961 they were married, and she became his "beautiful loving wife," and they became one. From their union seven children were born.

He studied the Holy Bible and received much wisdom from God and was eager to share the wealth of knowledge he obtained. Abraham lived and loved God with his whole heart. Through his affliction, he yet loved, trusted and believed in God. He continued to teach God's Word daily until the last days of his earthly life.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving, and faithful wife, Margaret Ann Stewart; seven children: Von Tyrone Stewart Sr., Vicki Sherraine Stewart-Barham, Kim Yvonne Stewart-Nealous, Darin Anthony Stewart, Wendy Sheffon Stewart-Pantaja, Sherry Levene Stewart-Clifton and Andre Lamont Lawrence Stewart; adopted daughter Gail Tinsdall; thirty-six grandchildren: Diatiema, Von Jr., Jayden, Natasshia, Avery, Natasia, Brian, Raysean, Tia, Devery, Ashley, Darin Jr., Julian, Jamel, Dayron, Brandon, Darielle, Jarielle, Dondre, Ziare, D'Anthony, Shaniquah, Laiquan, Desmond Jr., Daeman, Taylor, Terrell Jr., Jahlil, Shavonta, André, Trendell, Jayon, Keala, Isaiah, Josiah, and Mikalah; six great-grandchildren: Dimorea, Stephon, Caleb, Marcus, Avonna and Eviolet; three siblings: Delores Bruce, Leroy Stewart and Eddie Stewart; sons and daughters by marriage: Ildaura Stewart, Dr. Allen C.
