Obituary for Karen L. White

Karen Lynette White, 53, was born in Salisbury, Maryland to Golden and Catherine Camper on Dec 13, 1959. She departed this life on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013 at the Christiana Care Hospital in Newark, Delaware. She was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, friend, and counselor.
Karen received her diploma at Dover High School in Dover, Delaware. After graduating, Karen pursued her many interests. She became a registered CNA in Washington, DC. Later Karen had the opportunity to fulfill her dream of being a beautician and became the co-owner of Catherine’s Hair Designs & Accessories in Salisbury, MD. She became so well-known for her special talent in hair weaving that people from all over sought after her and were blessed by her services. She not only specialized in helping women with damaged hair, but she ministered to their spiritual needs, boosting their self-esteem. Years later, she was a licensed daycare provider of K&K Family Child in Laurel, DE.
Many people from all walks of life were attracted to Karen because of her personality and wisdom. Her exuberant, good-humored nature was the life of any situation. It wasn’t unusual to see her with a host of people following her. Karen had a way of making everyone she talked to feel better about themselves and their situations. Because Karen was a people’s person she housed many community children, families, friends, and strangers facing hard times.
Karen was a faithful member of the United Deliverance Bible Center in Laurel, DE under the leadership of Apostle Catherine Camper, founder and Apostle Keith and Pastor Carla Wongus. She served in many capacities as Elder, church secretary, Sunday school teacher , President of Youth, Ushers, Pastor’s Aide, Nurses and adjutants, and choir member.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: father, Elder Golden Camper and mother, Apostle Catherine Camper both of Laurel DE. One daughter, Kendra White of Seaford, DE: father of daughter, Yancy White Sr. of Salisbury, MD; one step- daughter: Leslie White of Salisbury, MD; two grandchildren, Zhane Gunther and Da’Jour Harrell of Salisbury, MD: four sisters: Elsie Combs (James) and Delores Harris (Theodore) both of Dover, DE; Carla Wongus (Keith) of Laurel, DE and Melissa Camper-Gomes (Bernard) of Orlando FL; four brothers: Kendall Camper (Rochelle) of Laurel, DE; Robert Camper (Frances) of Sharptown, MD; Russell Camper (Lorie) of Williamsburg, VA; William F.
